Armuchee High senior Kyleigh Powell on Friday signed a volleyball scholarship with Reinhardt University in Waleska.
Powell said of the signing: “I am so excited to begin my next chapter at Reinhardt University, while soaking in every moment as my time in high school comes to a close.”
“Signing to Reinhardt for volleyball means so much to me because I’ve been working toward this moment for over eight years. I believe that Reinhardt and the tight-knit community will be such a great fit for me.”
“I couldn’t be more excited. I also would like to say a special thank you to God, family, coaches and friends for making this all possible.”
Also attending the signing and are pictured along with Powell (seated, center) were (seated, from left) mother Carrie Powell, father Steve Powell (standing, from left) Armuchee High principal Joseph Pethel, Armuchee High assistant volleyball coach Jeremy Dunagan, Armuchee High head volleyball coach Clint Decker and Armuchee High athletic director Shane Arp.
Powell was an all-area first-team selection by the area’s coaches this past season and also a member of the Rome News-Tribune all-county first team as she helped the Lady Indians to an area title and a trip to the second round of the state tournament.
