Model High’s football game previously scheduled for Friday was canceled due to the Chattooga High football team and coaching staff being quarantined because of direct exposure to COVID-19, according to Floyd County Schools.

A separate announcement will be made when a make-up game date is finalized.

Chattooga’s game against Gordon Central, originally scheduled for Oct. 16, was also canceled. A make-up date for that contest is also to be determined.

The Indians currently own a 1-3 record, with the lone victory a 28-14 W over Pickens on Sept. 11.

Model’s next game is a Region 7-AA matchup against the Coosa Eagles at Coosa High School on Oct. 16. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
