Wrestling season is about to begin in full swing on the high school and middle school level, but a pair of local wrestlers got a little head start recently.

Randy Duck and Kriecg Roe recently traveled to Des Moines, Iowa to compete in the Preseason Nationals while representing the Guerrilla Wrestling Academy and performed well, each earning a place on the medal stand.

Duck, who competed in the Middle School Division at 125 pounds wrestled his way to a fifth-place finish, and Roe, who competed in the 160-pound level of the High School Division, finished in sixth place.

According to its Facebook page, Guerrilla Wrestling Academy is located at 1818 Kingston Highway and is currently accepting new members for the 5-10 year old age group and 10-over advanced age group. All skills level are welcome but must have wrestling shoes, USA Wrestling Card and commitment. The season is Nov. 2 through Feb. 28, and the cost is $60 per month or $200 for the full season.
