The Ridgeland Panthers fell to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in Region 7-AAAA after a 42-7 home loss to region frontrunner Cartersville on Friday.

Both teams suffered two first-quarter turnovers as they ended the first period scoreless, but the Canes (6-0, 3-0) would get on the board with two touchdowns in the second quarter as they forged a 14-0 lead at the break.

Cartersville would get on track in the third, scoring 21 points, as they coasted to the win.
