The Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors had more than 10 players recognized for the 2012 All-Region Team.
First team All-Region honors went to Trey Silmon (QB), Pooh Harden (RB), Jok O'Barr (OL), Jackson Wallin (DB), Nate Long (LB), Dylan Flowers (DL) and Kyle Trego (PK).
Daniel Parrish (DB) made the second team with Steven Lewis (OL) and Randall Eaker (DB) listed as honorable mentions.
LFO head coach Todd Windham said he was extremely proud of all his players.
“I think what it says about them is that they were very dedicated to the program and to improving themselves with the athletes and football players,” said the veteran coach. Windham said the players honored have played in the program three to four years and have been a valuable part of the Warriors’ turnaround.
He said he can't say enough positive things about their work ethic and character. “They’ve been through some bad times, including 0-10 season, 4-6 season and this year’s 7-3 season,” he said. “I think it’s a combination of maturity, commitment and effort. All of that had to come together for us to have a good year.”
