The Model girls and boys teams took care of business with a Region 7-AA sweep Thursday at Murray County.
The Lady Devils earned a 5-0 victory as they swept the singles matches, thanks to wins from No. 1 Tori Calvert, No. 2 Caroline Goss and No. 3 Nora Stone. The doubles lines were impressive as well as the duo of Bella Peed and Amara Howard (No. 1), as well as the duo of Althea Holden and Morgan Wood (No. 2), each won in straight sets.
On the boys side, Model won by a 5-0 score also, with only one line requiring a third set. The Devils’ doubles teams of John David Cunningham and Malachi Veillon (No. 1), along with Luke Tanner and Daniel Veillon (No. 2), both won their lines.
In singles play, Ethan Ellison (No. 1), Cooper Heard (No. 2) and Orgil Adams (No. 3) all won in two sets.
Both Model teams will once again be on the road Tuesday, traveling to Haralson County for a Region 7-AA matchup starting at 4:15 p.m.
