A man from Dallas, Georgia, was being held without bond Monday after he was arrested outside Scant's Corner Liquor Store on Martha Berry Boulevard on a charge of possessing a Schedule II controlled substance.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Joie Lana Gowens, 60, had a clear bag containing meth in his pocket, as well as a glass smoking device.

Police found Gowens also had an outstanding warrant from an incident on June 5 where he lied about his name during a traffic stop and signed a citation with the fake name.

He is additionally charged with felony first degree forgery and misdemeanor possession of drug related objects.
