Mrs. Elender Louise Hobgood Pegg, age 86, was called to her eternal rest on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. A native of Floyd County, Georgia, Mrs. Pegg was born on March 1, 1935, daughter of the late Rednal Hobgood and the late Minnie Lee Neely Hobgood. She is preceded in death her husband, Daniel Richard Pegg who she married on May 4, 1953, by a granddaughter, Amanda Jane Henderson, by two brothers, Rednal Doyle Hobgood and Grady Ray Hobgood, and by two half-brothers, R. B. Greeson and Morris Greeson. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Kathy Tabor and her husband, Don, Lafayette, and Vickie Kidd; a grandson, Henry Kidd; a great grandson, Anthony Frazier; a great granddaughter, Amelia Henderson; a grandson-in-law, Tyrone Henderson, all of Rome; nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pegg was always smiling and loved Southern Bluegrass Gospel Music, especially the banjo. She was a member of Silver Creek Church of God and Sugar Valley Baptist Church. A woman of great faith, she served with love and detail. She organized the Christmas Card Exchange for the church, and she loved telling each family "Merry Christmas and God bless you." every time. She was very faithful in her attendance to church and helped in the children's Sunday School class, VBS, Homecoming, fall festivals, and visiting shut ins. Anywhere the Lord led her, she helped. She loved God, her family, and her country. He laughter, smile and her loving ways will be greatly missed by many dear relatives and friends. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." 2Timothy 4:7-8 Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at 3pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Mitch Phillips officiating. Private interment will be at Floyd Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Sunday from 2pm until the service time. Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the arrangements.
