Arthur Rickman (Rick) Miller, Rome, Ga passed away after an extensive battle from Covid-related complications on September 29th. He was 70 years old. Rick was born October 16 to Arthur S. (Doc) Miller and Francis (Duck) Burns. He was preceded in death by both parents, several aunts and his side-kick dog Buddy. Rick graduated from East Rome High School in 1968. He attended Berry College and left to enter the U.S. Army. After discharge he attended and graduated from the State University of West Georgia (formerly West Georgia College). Rick co-owned and operated Callier Springs Golf Course in Rome which has been in the family for 86 years. He devoted most of his time to maintaining the family business, serving as manager, course superintendent, mechanic, or whatever was needed at the moment. He was an avid golfer and won many local championships. Survivors include his wife Lynn Keown Miller to whom he was married for 41 years, and two sons, Grant and Brian Miller; sister-in-law Becky Keown (Gadsden, AL) and brother and sister-in-law Ron and Sheri Sinnock. The couple had a strong love and friendship and enjoyed going on "adventures" in their free time. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the Floyd Medical Staff and the ID/ICU staff for the wonderful care given to Rick. They are also extremely thankful to the dedicated Calliers' Family for their help and support throughout this difficult time. Heartfelt gratitude also goes to Minister Danny Waits for the comfort given during Rick's final transition. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at a later date.
