Mr. Dallas Dewitt Kerce, Sr., age 82, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at a local hospital. Mr. Kerce was born in Rome, Georgia on August 14, 1939, son of the late Ralph Dewitt Kerce and the late Mary Porter Kerce. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Joyce Smith Kerce. Mr. Kerce worked for 30 years as a truck driver for Carolina Freight. He was a member of Dykes Creek Baptist Church, the Yaarab Shrine, and was a member of the East Floyd Masonic Lodge #728 F.&A.M. for 51 years. Survivors include a daughter, Debra Ann Brock (Dustin), Calhoun; a son, Dallas Dewitt Kerce, Jr. (Angela), Cave Spring; five grandchildren, Cayla Pulliam (Dayln), Joshua Bagwell (Magen), Jaden Brock, Taylor Thorne (Mark), and Zane Cannon (Brandi); five great grandchildren, Ava Pulliam, Jax Pulliam, Stella Spriggs, Gunner Bagwell, and Avery Cannon; a sister, Jane Williams (Marvin), Rome; a brother, James Kerce (Susie), Rome; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 12 noon at Dykes Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Mikel Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the East Floyd Lodge #728 F.&A.M. presenting masonic rites. The family will receive friends at Dykes Creek Baptist Church on Saturday from 10am until 11:45am. Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at 11:30am and include: Active: Joshua Bagwell, Dayln Pulliam, Wesley Kerce, Vince Kerce, Michael Trammell, and Eddie Smith. Honorary: Jaden Brock and members of the East Rome Lodge #728 F.&A.M.
