Mr. Andrew "Andy" G. Edmondson, age 63, of Rome, GA, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021, surrounded by his family and friends. Andy was born in Rome, Georgia on January 1, 1958, son of the late Horace "Ed" Edmondson and is survived by his mother, Gladys Douglas Edmondson. Andy will be remembered for his great hugs, reassuring handshakes, his passion for fishing and hunting and his love for all critters. Critter, being Andy's nickname. Andy trusted animals more than people so if you were a part of his world, you were one of the lucky ones. He was a great family man and father (a father to more than his own.) After retiring from AT&T in 2019, Andy's favorite phrase became, "Just let me outside." His mother shared her love for birds with him and he spent many mornings listening before daybreak as the world woke up. Andy loved good picking music and especially enjoyed his time with the boys at PawPaw's, playing his harmonica. He was an active member of Trout Unlimited. He was a member of Rush Chapel United Methodist Church. Andy is survived by his wife, Andrea (Andi) Edmondson; his children, Stanton Cody Ward (Heather) and Kenneth Grady Edmondson (Kristen); his mother; siblings, Catherine "Twink" King (Mike), Elizabeth "Betsy" Edmondson, and Sam Edmondson (Eileen); three nephews and one niece, Amy Payne, Aggie Blaylock and Jon Willerson (our children by other parents) also survive. We would like to thank Dr. Michelle Strickland and Penny Roberson, Heyman Hospice and their team, Dr. Jerry McCormick, and our wonderful nurse, Bob. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider making a contribution to the following organizations he cared so deeply for: Trout Unlimited Chapter 519, P. O.
