Mrs. Opal Elaine Williams Dial, age 94, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at her residence. Mrs. Dial was born in Floyd County, Georgia on January 21, 1927, daughter of the late James B. Williams and the late Bertha Neeley Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Horace Dial, on April 5, 1991, by two sisters, Nellie Mae Williams and Betty Jewel Hall, and by two brothers, Dewey Clifford Williams and Rev. Elgin B. Williams. She was a faithful member of Silver Creek Church of God. Mrs. Dial worked for over 20 years at Rome Manufacturing until she retired. After retirement, she still had a desire to work and worked at various jobs including preparing lunches at Unity Christian School until the age of 93. She loved working and gardening. Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Dial Bartley (Sammy), Rome, and Judy Dial Baker, Rome; five grandchildren, Shondra McBurnett (David), Valerie Stepp (Rodney), Kevin Bartley (April), Stephanie Baker, and Jessica Baker; ten great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; a brother, Robert Williams (Ella), Silver Creek; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Edwards officiating and family members delivering eulogies. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday from 1pm until 1:45pm. Social distancing measures will be followed, and masks are requested. Grandsons, great grandsons, and great nephews will serve as pallbearers and are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday at 1:30pm. Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
