Tillman Alton Cowan, age 80, of Silver Creek, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Cowan was born in Floyd County, Georgia on April 26, 1941, son of the late Tillman Alexander Cowan and the late Odisa Jones Cowan. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Tant, and by two brother, Radion Cowan and James Cowan. Mr. Cowan was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the 181st Airborne. Prior to retirement, he worked in auto paint and body at Auto Collision here in Rome. He was a member of Shepherd's Chapel Church. Survivors include a son, Chris Cowan (Tommie); three grandchildren, Jordan Larry Cowan, Brittany Cowan, and Jessica Cowan; five great grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Bridges; four brothers, Wayne, Charles, Dale, and Roger Cowan; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 4pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Brooks officiating. The American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard will present military honors. The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Monday from 3pm until the service time.
