Mr. Lloyd Gregory Baker, age 76, of Rome, GA, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Baker was born in Chattanooga, TN on May 28, 1944, son of the former Loraine Johnson and the late Fred Baker. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Weathington Baker. Mr. Baker was a veteran of the United States Army. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Local #48 as a Superintendent with North Brothers/PCI. Upon his retirement, he owned and operated the Sports Page on Dean Avenue for several years. He was of the Christian faith. Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Baker, Trion; 2 sons, Gregory Lloyd Baker, Trion, and Gregory Rockdale Baker, Las Cruces, NM; his mother, Loraine Elrod, Chatsworth; 2 brothers, Donald Baker, Chattanooga, and Butch Baker, Chatsworth; 4 grandchildren, Tommy Smith, Travis Burkhalter, Kiana Mitchell, and Kaylea Baker; 6 great grandchildren, and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 3pm at the graveside in Floyd Memory Gardens. The Rev. Joey Motes will officiate with military honors presented by the American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard. Active and honorary pallbearers are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel on Friday at 2pm and are as follows: Active: Tommy Smith, Tim Smith, Rick Shedd, Donnie Rogers, Bill Gates, and Buster Wade. Honorary: Konner Smith, Randall Fuller, Jimmy Gates, Randy Maginess, and Darrell Branton. Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
