Less than a month after Rome’s Harbin Clinic revealed plans for a new medical office building in Adairsville, Gordon Hospital has broken ground for a new single-story 12,418-square-foot office building to serve the Adairsville community.
Site work at the tract on Ga. 140 just west of the Georgia North Industrial Park is already underway. Ground has not been broken yet for the Harbin facility.
Gordon Hospital currently has personnel based at two office buildings in Adairsville, one a family practice facility with two physicians: Dr. Byron Littlefield and Dr. Garrett Post at 6000 Joe Frank Harris Parkway. The other is an urgent care facility in the Food Lion shopping center on Ga. 140.
Garrett Nudd, director of marketing and public relations for Gordon Hospital, said the idea is to consolidate the family practice program and the urgent care facility into the new building by the end of this year.
The new facility will also house an orthopedics and sports medicine clinic along with imaging and laboratory services.
Nudd said the hospital will also offer physical therapy services in partnership with PT Solutions in the new building.
“We are thrilled to broaden our services in Adairsville,” said Dr. Joe Joyave, chief medical officer of Gordon Hospital in a press release. “Providing world-class healthcare to this community is one of our top priorities.”
The lot for the medical office building is L-shaped. Nudd said the building will front Ga. 140 and will be built with future expansion across the back of the lot in mind.
