Two 15-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with a series of car break ins and thefts along Burnett Ferry Road in West Rome, Ridgeview Drive in Silver Creek and the Stonebridge neighborhood.
Floyd County police have recovered six pistols — two of which have been confirmed as stolen — and small items like airpods, credit cards and clothing reported taken from several unlocked vehicles. Police also recovered a stolen SUV on Monday as part of the investigation.
“Our detectives were able to gather information regarding these thefts and serve a search warrant Thursday that led to these two arrests,” Sgt. Chris Fincher said Friday.
The two young men were captured on video at some of the homes during the thefts, which led to their identification.
“Video helps investigators a great deal,” Fincher said.
Police were able to identify the juveniles and serve a search warrant at their home in East Rome, Fincher said. That’s where they recovered a number of the stolen items.
