Rome Noon Optimist Club announces oratorical contest winners

Three area students were judged winners in the Rome Noon Optimist Club annual oratorical contest. Parker Collins a first grader at Montessori School won third place, Ellia McClain a sixth grader at Armuchee Middle School won first place, and Karis Long, an eighth grader at Model High School, won second place. McCain and Long will advance to the area contest April 8 in Canton. Those winners go to the district competition at the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville, on April 22. Cash scholarships are awarded.
