The Model Lady Devils tennis team defeated the Armuchee Lady Indians 4-1 Monday.

In singles action, Armuchee's Hannah Dellis captured a three-set win over Model's Tatum Abdou 6-3, 2-6, 10-5.

Abdou's teammates, though, picked her up as Caroline Goss outlasted Armuchee's Ansley Reese 6-4, 6-4, and Nora Stone won in a forfeit (6-0, 6-0).

In doubles, Model's duo of Ella Burgess and Althea Holden topped Armuchee's team consisting of Isabel Morales and Aubrie Cordle in straight sets 6-0, 6-2.

Model's team of Neely Brownlow and Belle Bryant upended Armuchee's AnnElise Brock and Emma Harrell in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.

The Lady Devils prepare for the Class AA state tournament, set to begin next week. Model will play either Monday, April 19, or Tuesday, April 20.
