If painting a beautiful porcelain mask sounds like something you'd enjoy, the Porcelain Art Guild's next event may be a way to test the waters of painting on porcelain.

Each month the guild hosts a meeting at which a program is presented. The next meeting will be held on Jan. 22 starting at 10 a.m. at Larue Huckaby's studio.

The program will be presented by Anna Nichols and will focus on painting a porcelain mask. Members are reminded to bring their paints and supplies but Huckaby said the guild welcomes new members who don't have to bring supplies if they don't have any.

"We can share supplies if someone is interested in learning and doesn't have any supplies yet," she said. "It's open to anyone who's interested in porcelain painting.

Huckaby said members of the public don't need to feel intimidated at the prospect of painting on porcelain.

"You don't need to be an experienced artist to do it," she said. "You can come and try it out and see if it's something you can enjoy. If you do, you can slowly develop your skills."

The guild meets on the fourth Saturday of each month. For additional about the guild or the meeting, call 706-266-6534.
