Rosie the Riveter

The Rome Chapter of the American Rosie the Riveter Association met at Brookdale on Tuesday, Dec. 10, for lunch and entertainment by Carol Cain from LaGrange. Cain, a well-known Georgia storyteller, has been playing the role of Rosie the Riveter for over 20 years, educating her audiences about the role of women during WWII. Posing with Cain are Rome Rosies Barbara Esler (from left), Bettianne Harris, Jane Tucker and Ouida Dickey. Among the other attendees were James Newberry, education and research manager for the Museum of History and Holocaust Education at Kennesaw State University, and history professor Jennifer Dickey.
