International Paper provides ECO Center grant so third graders can learn about the environment

Kelli Wilson (center) with International Paper dropped by the Rome-Floyd ECO Center recently to present a grant check from the International Paper Foundation. The center applied for and received funds from them in order to offer an educational program, free of charge, to every third grade class in the Rome City and Floyd County school systems for Spring 2022. The grant will cover the ECO Center’s program fees, and allows the center the chance to interact with and educate students across an entire grade level on the importance of our natural resources. ECO Center staff said the third grade science standards align well with their own curriculum, making the program a compliment to what students learn in the classroom.
