Michelle Strickland, M.D., a sports and family medicine physician in the Floyd Primary Care network, is now a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
The AAFP is a national medical association representing nearly 129,000 family physicians, residents and medical students. The Fellow designation recognizes members who have distinguished themselves by their service to family medicine, by their advancement of health care to the American people, and by their professional development through medical education and research.
Dr. Strickland is also a member of the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine and the Georgia Academy of Family Practice. She completed the Cabarrus Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship, Concord, N.C.
She completed her residency at the Floyd Family Medicine Residency program and received her Doctor of Medicine degree from St. Mathews University in the Cayman Islands.
