Cobb County saw 277 new cases of infection from the new coronavirus, and three deaths were reported as of Tuesday, per data from the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Tuesday saw a grim record for Georgia with the highest one-day increase in reported COVID-19 deaths: 137.

The state’s previous one-day record was Aug. 7, when 90 deaths were reported, per the public health website.
