Cobb, as well as most Georgia counties, are trending downward in new cases, according to the state health department. Cobb and the rest of the metro Atlanta counties have had new cases decrease by at least 5% last week. Statewide, from Sept. 7-14, the seven-day average of new cases reported decreased 11.3%, and is now down 54% from the state’s peak July 24.
Cobb was, however, listed among counties that saw an at least 5% increase in emergency department visits last week due to COVID-19 syndrome.
