A Rome man was stopped by Polk County Police following a chase that spanned three counties and ended with the recovery of a stolen motorcycle.
According to Polk County Police:
Tyler Lee Roden, 28, of Rome, was eventually stopped by officers near the intersection of Ga. 101 and U.S. 278 on the evening of Nov. 9. Roden had led law enforcement officers on a chase that originated in Gordon County before going through Floyd County and into Polk County.
Polk County Police were dispatched to the area of Ga. 101 to assist with the chase. Floyd County Police terminated their pursuit at the Floyd County line, and Polk County Police spotted the motorcycle on Ga. 101 near the Rockmart city limits.
Roden allegedly continued to drive erratically and, after initially failing to stop, did so near Bojangles restaurant.
Roden was taken into custody without incident and it was determined that the motorcycle was stolen. Roden also had warrants out of other jurisdictions, and suspected marijuana and methamphetamine were also located during the traffic stop.
Polk County Police gave their thanks to the Rockmart Police Department with their assistance in closing down intersections during this traffic stop.
