Five people were transported to Atrium Health Floyd for treatment after reporting minor injuries in the collision, police said.
Five people were injured in a wreck at Turner McCall Boulevard and Broad Street that overturned an ambulance and stalled traffic for a time.
According to Rome Assistant Chief of Police Debbie Burnett:
On Wednesday at 9:23 p.m., Rome Police Department officers were dispatched to a wreck with injuries at Turner McCall Boulevard and Broad Street that involved an Atrium Health Floyd ambulance. The ambulance overturned and five people complaining of minor injuries were transported to Atrium Health Floyd for treatment.
The intersection was shut down and traffic was diverted for approximately an hour.
