Cotton Block portion of Broad Street closed for filming of 'Kindred:' Work on the FX television series "Kindred" will close Broad Street from First Avenue to Second Avenue for five days. "Kindred” is a novel by Octavia E. Butler that follows the story of a Black writer transported in time to a plantation in the 1800s. A crew of 200 people associated with the series will be in town. West First Avenue also will be closed. 

TUESDAY

Runoff primary: Four races atop the Democratic ballot. Precincts open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The Rome Floyd County Development Authority will meet on at 10 a.m. in the authority’s boardroom at 800 Broad St., Suite 102.

Rome City Commission meeting: 5 p.m. caucus, 6;30 p.m. meeting. Agenda: RCC Agenda June 21, 2022

WEDNESDAY

Rome's Alcohol Control Commission, 5 p.m., City Hall. Agenda includes:

  • A) Issue a new Beer Packing License at The Market Place on East 12th Street, 107 E. 12th St. to Felipe Martinez.
  • B) Issue a new Beer and Wine Pouring License at The Early Way on Broad, 200 Broad St. to Rontavious Coley.
