A Cherokee County, Alabama sheriff says a shooting on Sunday appears to have been a domestic dispute.
According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver:
911 dispatch received a call on Sunday afternoon, March 1, that a man had been shot at a residence in the McCord’s Crossroads community.
Deputies responded and located the victim, who was transported by ambulance to a Rome, Ga. hospital.
Investigators from the sheriff’s office and district attorney’s office responded to the scene along with the JSU Center for Applied Science team.
"The shooting appears to be part of a domestic dispute and remains under investigation by the Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit," according to Shaver. "The investigation is ongoing, and no further information will be released at this time."
