The Ridgeland Lady Panthers managed just five points in the first quarter on Tuesday night and never recovered as they dropped a 57-43 decision on the road at Adairsville.
Jamiah Lewis scored 14 points for Ridgeland, who fell to 9-12 overall and 3-7 in Region 6-AAA. Emma Fowler scored 12 points. Madison Lennon had six and Ava Mariakis scored five, while two points apiece from Autumn Pasley, Lacie Moyer and Trinity Silmon rounded out the scoring.
The Lady Tigers are now 11-9 overall and 5-4 in region play.
Adairsville also took the boys' contest by a score of 76-56 to move to 14-7 overall and 9-1 in 6-AAA.
Ridgeland dropped to 6-13 on the season, 3-7 in region games.
The Panthers were down by just five at halftime, 35-30, but the Tigers boosted their advantage to 15 by the end of the third quarter before adding to it in the fourth.
John Hill scored a team-best 22 points for Ridgeland. No further individual scoring was available as of press time.
The Panthers and Lady Panthers will make the short drive to Chickamauga on Friday night to face Gordon Lee in another pair of region contests.
