The East Ridge Pioneers made 8 of 10 free throws in the fourth quarter and held off Heritage, 52-48, on the final day of the Ridgeland Thanksgiving Classic on Wednesday.
The Generals (1-2) took a 27-24 lead at halftime and maintained the three-point advantage to start the fourth quarter, but were unable to finish off the victory.
Kaleb Gallman had 15 points on five 3-pointers. Ty Loveless added nine points, while Collin Swearingin and Bryce Travillian scored five points apiece.
Four points from Ryan Heet, three each from J.C. Armour and Kaleb Biddle, and two apiece from Carson Green and Kaden Swope capped the night for the Generals, who will join the Lady Generals for a doubleheader at LFO on Tuesday.
Heritage girls 48, Dade County 34
The Lady Generals (2-1) concluded their part in the Classic on Wednesday by taking down the Lady Wolverines. Heritage trailed by three after the first eight minutes, but forged a 20-18 lead at the break before pulling away in the second half.
Lauren Mock scored 11 points, while Gracie Murray and Brooke Matherly had 10 each. Aaliyah Rodgers went for eight and Riley Kokinda added six, while two from Macie Collins and one from Kortney McKeznie rounded out the scoring column.
