The Heritage Generals made up a rained-out game at Coahulla Creek on Wednesday night and got past the Colts, 3-1, in a pitchers' duel.
Heritage took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning. The Generals collected three straight two-out singles. The third, coming off the bat of Maddox Henry, plated the first run of the game.
The Colts tied it with a run in the fourth, but a half-inning later, Heritage regained its lead as Henry scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Brady Chandler. Then in the sixth, Henry delivered a sacrifice fly to score Cody Bryan.
Landen Skeen pitched five innings to get the victory. He allowed just one run on one hit with three walks and six strikeouts. Garrison May pitched a third of an inning out of the bullpen before Jonathan Glover came on to record a five-out save. He struck out four batters.
Skeen, Gage Shaver and J.C. Armour also had singles as Heritage improved to 9-3 on the season.
The Generals are scheduled to play at Southeast Whitfield on Thursday before finishing up the three-game Region 7-AAAA series back at home on Friday.
