Sports editor addresses Kiwanis Club

Scott Herpst (left), a graduate of Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School and sports editor for the weekly Catoosa and Walker County newspapers, spoke on Nov. 12 to the Kiwanis Club of Fort Oglethorpe. He spoke of the large pool of athletic talent in North Georgia and that colleges are coming to North Georgia to recruit, such as LaFayette High School’s 6’ 7” Aidan Hadaway. He also gave an update on those who are playing in college, minor league baseball and those playing professionally. Herpst enjoys covering all the sports and commented that players he covered early in his career are now parents and he’s covering their children as they compete.
