Residential property rates going up

Residential property rates are going up in Catoosa County, but most commercial properties are not changing.

Not long after facing the blow of a tax hike, Catoosa County property owners are looking at that possibility in another form — new property assessments.

The county’s Board of Assessors has announced a base rate hike of 19.5% on average. Assessors are required by state law to assess property at fair market value, but that doesn’t make it any easier to swallow.
