The Walker County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a burglary at the S&R Grocery in LaFayette and is asking the public to help identify the suspects.

According to Walker County Sheriff’s Department reports:

On Friday, April 1, around 10:40 p.m., a sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to S&R Grocery, the former RC’s convenience store, located at 2213 Trion Highway due to the alarm sounding off.

The deputy discovered the right front door of the business had been busted out and in a fashion that would not allow for law enforcement to enter, so the owner was called to the scene.

After determining the suspects were not inside the store, the owner told authorities that no merchandise seemed to be missing, but only the damage to the door.

Surveillance video from the store depicts two white male suspects.

The first suspect was seen approaching the front door and looked inside. He is described as a white male in his early twenties, with dark shoulder length hair, with a blue shirt and a long sleeved white shirt underneath, wearing black gloves, blue jeans, and brown boots.

The suspect walked to the east side of the store and met the second suspect.

The second suspect is described as a white male in his early twenties, with blue jeans, and a hoodie-style jacket, with black and white tennis shoes.

The first suspect is seen putting on a mask to conceal his face and began kicking in the front door while the second suspect stood in the front parking lot away from the store.

The first suspect made entry from the broken-out right front door glass.

The suspect can be seen looking behind the counter of the store and then exiting back out of the right front door.

The two suspect then fled on foot towards Old Trion Highway and out of the view of the camera.

Anyone with information on either of the two suspects is asked to contact the Walker County Sheriff’s Department Detective William Davis at 706-638-1909 ext. 1254.
