The Crushers Travel team out of Calhoun recently played in the eighth annual Atlanta Braves Youth Baseball Classic in Alpharetta and were the last team standing in the 8-under division as they were crowned tournament champs.
The tournament featured some of the top youth baseball teams across the Southeast and had divisions from 6-under up through 14-under. Each team got to meet and take photos with current Braves player Jace Peterson, former Braves pitcher Alejandro Pena and the Braves mascot, Homer. The participating teams also got to make the trip to Turner Field to watch the Braves take on the Colorado Rockes.
