The Sonoraville High School Youth Softball camp will take place June 1-3 for any local girls who want to participate.

The camp is for girls in kindergarten through eighth grades but girls must be at least five years old at the start of the three days of learning the game under Sonoraville veteran head coach Chad Hayes.

Last year, the Phoenix varsity team reached the GHSA 3A state finals before losing a pair of tough games to Appling County.

The camp will be held at the SHS softball field and indoor facility and run from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. each of the three days. Registration and drop-off will start at 8:15 each day and the sessions will begin promptly at 8:30.

All campers are urged to bring cleats, turf/tennis shoes (for the indoor facility), and a glove, bat, helmet, and water bottle. Any campers who have medical needs should bring anything the child needs in a bag with that person’s name on it.

The cost of the camp is $50.

Anyone needing more information can contact Coach Hayes at chadhayes@gbce.org.
