An Alabama man has been charged with child molestation in Gordon County, along with a host of other related charges.
According to Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:
Brandon Matthew Vines, 40, of Leesburg, Alabama, was arrested Wednesday morning following an investigation into allegations of rape and child molestation.
On Dec. 13, the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into the allegations that involved a child under 10 years of age in response to a Division of Family and Children Services referral.
Detectives conducted interviews and collected evidence on Dec. 21, issued arrest warrants for Vines and contacted authorities in Cherokee County, Alabama. On Dec. 22, Vines was arrested in Leesburg without incident by CCSO deputies, and upon waiving extradition was transported to Gordon County.
Vines is charged with three counts of rape, two counts of aggravated child molestation, two counts of aggravated sodomy, three counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, two counts of first-degree cruelty to children under the Family Violence Act — all felonies. He is also charged with two counts of simple battery, also under the FVA.
