The 2021 PAGE STAR Student for Sonoraville High School is Elijah Hibberts. Each STAR student chooses his or her most influential teacher as the STAR teacher, and Eli has chosen Mrs. Ashley Brookshire, SHS English teacher and Literary coach, as his STAR Teacher.

Eli is the Salutatorian for his graduating class.

During his four years at Sonoraville High School, Eli has been a part of both the Student Government Association and Thespian Troupe No. 7786, where he currently serves as Student Body President and Troupe President, respectively.

After being selected from among a pool of over 1500 students, Eli serves alongside 65 other students as a member of State Superintendent Woods’ Student Advisory Council.

Eli is a Georgia Merit Scholar recipient, AP Scholar with Distinction honoree, and a two-time Governor’s Honors Program semifinalist.

Eli will be attending the Georgia Institute of Technology, starting in June, where he will pursue a degree in Literature, Media, and Communication, with a minor in Music. He hopes to use this knowledge to become a food media professional and content creator for mass media outlets.

The STAR student is designated in each high school across Georgia as the senior with the highest score on a single test date of the SAT. The student must also be in the top 10% of his or her class.

The STAR program is sponsored each year by the PAGE Foundation.
