The Gordon County Young Farmers celebrated their year with a final awards night.

Special guests were Representative Rick Jasperse, Gordon County Superintendent Dr. Kimberly Fraker, and CTAE Director Leah Newsom.

The following were recognized for their achievements: Kevin Walraven is serving on the State Young Farmer board as Secretary, Lacy Powell was awarded for Outstanding Member and placing second on the Region level, Josh Powell received an award for Young Agriculture Producer and placing third on the Region level, Emma Long received a $1,000 State Young Farmers Terrell Weeks Scholarship, and Carla McMorris was recognized for winning the state Outstanding Chapter President award.

The speakers for the evening were four local high school seniors, Emma Long, Jazmine Ralston, Hannah McElrath, and Gabrielle Ralston, who received a local Young Farmer Scholarship. The girls shared their plans of continuing their education in an ag-related field in August.

The Gordon County Young Farmers are proud to sponsor these young ladies and wish them all the best as they pursue their higher degrees. To learn more about the Gordon County Young Farmers Organization, contact acarr@gcbe.org and follow them on Facebook.
