ARMUCHEE FIELD DEDICATION — Armuchee High School will name its football field to honor former coach Namon Wiseman on Friday. There will be a reception at 5:30 p.m. and naming of the football field at 7:05 p.m., just prior to the first home football game. CVTA TENNIS MIXER — The Coosa Valley Tennis Association will hold a tennis mixer Friday at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College beginning at 6:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be available, and all skill levels are encouraged. Donations will be accepted.

CLOCKTOWER 5K ROAD RACE — The 31st annual Gary Tillman Memorial Clocktower 5K Road Race and 2-Mile Health Walk will be held Saturday at 8 a.m. in downtown Rome. Registration is $30 for the 5K and $25 for the 2-mile walk. Prices increase $5 on the day of the race. The event benefits The Exchange Club Family Resource Center. ROME TENNIS CIRCUIT TOURNAMENT — Rome Tennis Circuit will host its Back to School Championships junior tennis tournament at Darlington School at 8 a.m. on Aug. 27. The tournament is for players ages 6 to 18. The tournament will cost $22.50 for singles and doubles and $27 to play in both competitions.
