The Armuchee boys’ basketball team could not pick up its first win, falling to Sonoraville 89-62 on Tuesday night in Sonoraville.
Eli Brock led the team in scoring with 19 points, while Tamalachi Lovelace chipped in with 12 points.
The Indians (0-5) play again on Friday when they open Region 7-AA play with a home game against Chattooga.

The Armuchee girls’ basketball team battled but lost to Sonoraville 44-36 on Tuesday night in Sonoraville.
Livia Skinner was the only Armuchee player with double-digits, scoring 17 points. Brandy Ann Wacker finished with eight points.
The Lady Indians (3-2) play again this Friday night when they host Chattooga to open Region 7-AA play.
Cartersville girls 38, Pepperell 29
The Pepperell girls’ basketball team could not hold on in their first road game of the season, losing to Cartersville 38-29 in Cartersville Tuesday night.
Anna Cowan led the Lady Dragons with eight points, as no player reached double digits.
Pepperell (1-1) plays again this Friday, as it opens up Region 7-AA play with a trip to Trenton against Dade County.
Jacksonville Christian Academy boys 74, GSD 40
The Georgia School for the Deaf boys’ basketball team struggled in a 74-40 loss to Jacksonville Christian Academy on Tuesday night in Cave Spring.
Demarco Brown was nearly the entire offense for the Tigers, scoring 36 of the team’s 40 points.
The Tigers (0-5) play again this Tuesday when they travel to play Atlanta Classical University.
Jacksonville Christian Academy girls 50, GSD 46
The Georgia School for the Deaf girls’ basketball team came up just short against Jacksonville Christian Academy, losing 50-46 on Tuesday night in Cave Spring.
Chynah Johnson was the only Lady Tiger in double-digits, racking up 30 points. Jordan Hall was the second leading scorer with eight points.
The Lady Tigers (3-2) play again this Tuesday when they travel to play Atlanta Classical Academy.
