Rood, playing on Senior Night at Armuchee, scored a team-high 18 points, including eight in the final quarter of an 80-68 win over Dade County.
Down 47-32 at the half, the Indians held the visiting Wolverines to 21 points in the final 16 minutes of the game and put up 48 points over that time to take the lead.
Armuchee (5-18, 5-8 7-AA) was 13-of-31 from behind the arc, with Rood going 3-of-4 from the perimeter. In all, 10 Indians reached the scoring column.
Chaney Holder scored 16 points for Armuchee while Tamalachi Lovelace and Jacob Stanley each added 11. Stanley sank three 3’s.
Dade County (9-15, 7-6) had beaten Armuchee 86-50 on Jan. 5 in Trenton. Jonathan Wood was a constant threat for the Wolverines as he finished with 33 points.
Armuchee wraps up the regular season Friday at Rockmart.

Armuchee girls 44, Dade County 38
Armuchee senior Livia Skinner scored more than half of her team’s points in a 44-38 Region 7-AA win over Dade County at home Tuesday on Senior Night.
Skinner hit a pair of 3’s and went 8-of-9 from the line on her way to 24 points in the Lady Indians’ win, which keeps them in the running for second in the region.
Armuchee (13-10, 8-5) had six points from Karson Fallin and four from Aionna Dozier. The team concludes the regular season Friday at Rockmart.
Chattooga girls 53, Coosa 49
The Coosa Lady Eagles came up short on Tuesday, losing to the visiting Chattooga girls’ basketball team 53-49.
Coosa senior Taylor Roberts paced her squad in the Region 7-AA contest with 16 points nine steals and six rebounds against the Lady Indians. She also recorded three assists and two blocks.
Nay Milsap was next for Coosa in the scoring column with 14 points. She also finished with eight rebounds. Kasey Thacker had 10 rebounds.
Coosa (9-13, 5-8 7-AA) will complete the regular season on the road Friday at Pepperell.
Gordon Central girls 51, Pepperell 38
Playing on the road Tuesday, Pepperell lost to host Gordon Central, 51-38, in a Region 7-AA game in Calhoun.
Grace Hufford led the Lady Dragons with 10 points while Maycy Owens added nine for Pepperell, which falls to 4-14 overall and 2-10 in the region.
Pepperell will be back at home Thursday as it hosts Rockmart in a make-up game.
Unity Christian boys 62, Killian Hill Christian 31
Unity Christian’s boys’ basketball team came up with a rout on the road Tuesday, defeating region opponent Killian Hill Christian 62-31.
Huston Bryant scored 21 points, Hudson Hill added 12 and Brayden Dean finished with eight. The Lions (13-5, 4-3) travel to Horizon Christian on Thursday.
