TENNIS: Indians, Lady Indians swept by region foe Calhoun

The Armuchee prep tennis teams were swept Wednesday in the finals of the Region 7-AA tournament in Calhoun. The boys were defeated, 5-0, and the girls lost, 3-2.

The boys’ results were:

At No. 1 singles, Calhoun’s Adrian Lively defeated Cedric Boehm, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.

At No. 2 singles, Calhoun’s Andrew Stewart defeated Josh Hines, 6-2, 7-5.

At No. 3 singles, Calhoun’s Desmond Printup defeated Matthew Smith, 6-4, 6-3.

At No. 1 doubles, Calhoun’s Cade Allen and Morgan Bird defeated Zane Holcomb and Kennedy Gossett, 6-1, 6-1.

At No. 2 doubles, Calhoun’s Michael McCanless and Ethern Burnett defeated Grant McGhee andYandell Ratcliff, 6-2, 7-6.

The girls’ results were:

At No. 1 singles, Armuchee’s Ebony Short defeated Sam Stewart, 6-3, 6-2.

At No. 2 singles, Armuchee’s Haley Critchlow defeated Emily Brumlow, 6-0, 6-0.

At No. 3 singles, Calhoun’s Faith Tankersly defeated Kallie Cothran, 6-2, 6-2.

At No. 1 doubles, Calhoun’s Calli Davis and Bree Walraven defeated Morgan Stansell and Maggie Stansell, 6-1, 6-2.

At No. 2 doubles, Calhoun’s Lexuss King and Madison Turner defeated Allie Brumbelow and Baylee Branton, 6-3, 7-6.
