A tough early season for the Gordon Lee tennis teams continued on Thursday as both the Trojans and Lady Trojans fell to visiting Northwest Whitfield.

But Gordon Lee was forced to forfeit at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles, and the Bruins took the match as the team of Thomas Blackwell and Chris Brown beat Logan Davis and Chandler Steele, 8-1.

The Lady Trojans also dropped to 0-4 with a 3-2 defeat.

Gordon Lee also won the first two singles matches. Madison Hilley doubled up Emma Jones, 8-4, at No. 1 singles, and Katie Barger beat Gracie Cansler, 8-5, at No. 2 singles.

However, Sara Richards handed Bonnie Hankins an 8-0 loss at No. 3 singles, and the Lady Bruins swept the doubles matches. Sydney and Alli Wagner beat Sara Clayton and Katherine Chambers, 8-2, while the team of Halley Henderson and Valerie White got past Tori McElhaney and Sara Holcomb, 8-4.
