SOCCER: Rockmart Lady Jackets make school history

  • ()
The Rockmart High School Lady Jackets soccer team has made school history.
For the first time ever in the high school soccer program, the girls will be playing in a state playoff game.
Rockmart lost Tuesday night to Central-Carroll 6-2, but that has done little to dampen the spirits of the Lady Jackets as they prepare to play in a first-ever playoff game for their school.
"It was a good game," Lady Jackets head coach Krista Crawford said. "We are the four seed, but this is the first time that we have gone to a playoff game and I am so proud of all my girls this year. They have worked so hard and come a long way."
Crawford noted that Rockmart will play the Savannah Arts Academy in the first round of the Class AAA state playoffs. No date has been set yet.
