The history making Rockmart High School Lady Jackets soccer season has come to an end.

The Lady Jackets played in the opening round of the Class AAA state playoffs against the Savannah Arts Academy and lost 9-0. It was the first time ever in the high school soccer program that a team had participated in a state playoff game.

Rockmart had entered the game as the No. 4 seed from Region 4-AAA and the Savannah Arts Academy came into the game as the top seed from Region 1-AAA after winning the region title.

Sarah Duckworth led the Savannah Arts Academy with three goals.

Rockmart’s Skyler Mulkey had 12 saves for the Lady Jackets and Madison McCrary had eight.
