PREP BASKETBALL: Tigers edge Coosa in Chattooga tourney

Darlington wrapped up its three-day run in the Chattooga Christmas Tournament on Friday with a 53-45 win over Coosa in the consolation finals.

JD Hull led the Tigers (6-3) with 27 points in the win, while Barrick Wade added 14 to help Darlington wrap up the tournament with a 2-1 record. Eli Brooks was selected to the all-tournament team.

Coosa (6-6) will be back in action Tuesday at Gordon Central, while Darlington is at Pepperell on Thursday.

Coosa girls 43, Gordon Lee 42

Emma Reynolds made two free throws with six seconds left in the game to secure Coosa’s come-from-behind 43-42 win over Gordon Lee on the road Friday.

Coosa (3-6) was led by Taylor Roberts, who finished with 17 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. The Lady Eagles will be back on the court today as they travel to Trion to take on the Lady Bulldogs at 4 p.m.
