Prep baseball: Tigers start season strong

Darlington’s baseball team got a big boost from some of its younger players during the Tigers’ season-opening 8-1 win against Chattooga on Monday at Darlington. 
Sophomore Burton Dulaney earned the win on the mound. He threw four innings, struck out eight and allowed one hit. Freshman Jay Shadday threw two innings and struck out four, and sophomore Robert Muschamp tossed one inning and struck out two.
At the plate, Breck Tillery had two hits and three RBIs for the Tigers (1-0), Brad Butler had a double, Logan Rice had a hit and two RBIs, and Dulaney had two hits. 
Darlington travels to Chattooga on Thursday.
