GIRLS SOCCER: Cedartown starts to move in the right direction

  • ()

The Cedartown High School Lady Bulldogs soccer team hasn’t had the start to the regular season that they had hoped for. However, they appear to be heading in the right direction as the meat of the schedule arrives.

“We are just starting to develop team chemistry,” head coach Sam Noland said. “So we really look forward to the next several games.”

The Lady Bulldogs lost to Woodland 9-0 on Feb. 15 and then fell to Rome 11-1 on Feb. 19 in a pair of non-region games against bigger schools.

On Tuesday, Cedartown played Region 7-AAAA, sub-region ‘A’ foe Cass and dropped a close 5-3 decision.

“According to our record, we haven’t started off well,” Noland said. “But in our first game, we were without three of our key players who had missed school that day. We also had some girls who had just gotten in from basketball and they had not worked their way into our lineup yet.

“But by our game against Cass, we had changed our defensive lineup and we started to show what we are capable of doing.”

The Lady Bulldogs will play Heritage-Catoosa at home on Friday at 5 p.m.
