Girls basketball: LFO girls score 17 consecutive points to edge North Murray

The Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe girls scored 17 consecutive points to earn a 55-51 victory on Friday, Jan. 18 at North Murray.

The Lady Warriors, led by Abbi Mabri, Aubrey Clemons and  Elizabeth Oliver, fell behind 33-25 at the half.

They trailed, 41-33, before their 17-point run.

LFO head coach Dewayne Watkins said  he was proud of his team’s effort in the win.

“We went to a full-court, man-to-man defense to speed the game up,” he said.

Mabri led the Warriors with 16 points.

Clemons scored 11, and Oliver added 10 points.

Courtney Crawford was also key for the Warriors with two big free-throws at the end of the game.
